PHPMAKER - ORACLE: ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied

error message: " ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied" when create view at phpmaker and no display pop up when generated file success.

environment:

• database: oracle
• front end: phpmaker

setting database in phpmaker ok but error when create VIEW

please checked below:

• make sure netconfig setting at oracle successcfull login
• make sure ODBC setting to database successfully login 
• going to php.ini then make sure "extension=php_oci8.dll" unremark

ORA-12528: TNS:listener: all approriate instances are blocking new connecti

I had already asked for the database state (select name,open_mode,database_role from v$database) in my previous post.

The database is not getting mounted.The controlfile is not consistent.

1. Shutdown the database

2. Make a copy of all the controflies.

3. replace the control02.ctl with copy of control01.ctl

4. startup the database

5. Then try to login to the database.

SQLSTATE = 22005 [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01722: invalid number

environment:

• clients pc: windows XP sp2/sp3
• oracle 11g
• powerbuilder 9 
• connection use ODBC to oracle server

some users use windows XP have error message as below:
SQLSTATE = 22005
[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01722: invalid number
No changes made to database.

when changes value use combo box

below step to solve at clients PC:

• please unisntall previous oracle clients at their PC,
• remove ODBC setting and environment DLL for powerbuilder
• reinstall oracle again and 
• re setting path DLL files for powerbuilder in environment variabel.

transaction not connected on oracle and PowerBuilder 9

sometime we got message when develop login form use Powerbuilder 9 and oracle11g database:
At this issue: the PC installed Oracle11g & PB9 both.
open lgin form from PB is ok , but when open application file (exe file). Got message:

"Transaction not connected"

no detail information about it;
please check below:
(1) make sure that PB...90.DLL not double in that PC.
(2) if have double PB...90.DLL please going to control panel - system - environment - path
(3) then check the path only pointed to ONE LOCATION of PB...90. DLL

expired password on Oracle 11g

please login as system or dba

to show status account :
select username, account_status, expiry_date, lock_date from dba_users;

to set password un expired:
alter profile default limit password_life_time unlimited;

if the password exired then the user locked:
alter user scott account unlock;

ganti password user:

beri rule dba ke user
grant dba to user2;

setting PB - oracle express

free version oracle 10g silakan download 220MB di sini, tapi sebelumnya harus register dulu. Lalu install dan beri password. Setting di DB profile PB9i adalah sebagai berikut:

• masuk ke dbprofile
• profile name: terserah
  
• server name: xe atau localhost bila oracle express pada PC yg sama
  
• login ID: system
• password: sama ketika install oracle
• Preview TAB then test connection

belum menemukan cara untuk buat databasename baru di oracle express. Apa memang ga' boleh ya ?

migrasi database oracle9i, Win Server 2K3 to Win XP

e.g. database name HRIS, from Win Server2003, oracle 9i server:

• stop services oracle 9i then
  
• copy folder database at oradata\hris
  
• copy file init.ora at folder pfile
  

at Win XP, please install same Oracle version at same drive then:

• create same Global Database name and SID
  
• stop service oracle 9i
• copy folder database to oradata\hris
  
• copy file init.ora to folder pfile

personal Oracle 8 (tanpa i): restore database

untuk restore database Oracle 8 (tanpa i) dari PC lain ke PC lainnya adalah sebagai berikut: Copy file backup yang dari PC lainnya , biasanya di folder ORANT - BACKUP ke folder ORANT-BACKUP di PC yang baru, lalu pilih option no 2 pada menu restore.. udah deh

rebuild oracle database dari server yg rusak

bila server nya yg rusak please pakai cara berikut untuk rebuild database oracle ke mesin lain:

• create new server dengan kondisi: Windows dan oracle nya sama dengan versi sebelumnya
• nama Server dan IP juga sama.
  
• penamaan global database name dan SID juga sama
• password juga diusahakan sama
• lokasi folder installasi oracle juga sama
• pada server baru: stop service oracle: yang status: start (startup type: authomatically) ada 4 kalo ga' salah.
  
• copy semua file di folder "oradata" pada HD lama ke new server
  
• copy folder: \oracle\ora90\database dr HD lama ke server baru
• copy folder \oracle\admin\namadatabase\pfile dr HD lama ke server baru.
• start service tadi.
• go to SQLPlus then login as sys dan system untuk me-link-kan data lama dengan setting baru tadi.

Server2003 STD & Oracle 9i

waduh, akhirnya kelar juga, install Oracle9i di Server2003.
sejak 2 jumat - sabtu, minggu selesai (4 nov 2007).
Ternyata sering error karena HD server badsector. Capek deh.
selanjutnya install PB6.5

cara restore database oracle ke yang baru sbb:
